A few weeks ago, I spent the weekend doing a Spring Mini Photo Session. I love mini sessions, because they are quick for the kids (and parents!) who have a short attention span. They are also a good way to get some updated milestone type photos, without booking an entire session, as well. I feel like mini sessions are perfect for spring, because you may not necessarily want an entire family photo session done until it’s a bit prettier outdoors, with Colorado’s famous lush landscape and beautiful green and blue mountains come out to play, once again. Booking a Spring Mini Photo Session is also a good way to save money with photos, because with the package you receive 5 hi-res edited images (with the print release) and you have the option to buy an additional single image, or the entire gallery, if you’d like! There’s an option for every budget.
We did this particular Spring Mini Photo Session at Cherry Creek State Park. This park is one of my favorite locations, because it has tons of different options to work with, from beautiful rolling wheat fields, to mountain and lake views, all the way to wooded terrains. I chose to use a path in the wooded area, so we could get some pretty neutral colors in the background, while still letting your little one shine, and be the focal point of the image.
The day of this Spring Mini Photo Session, it was gorgeous weather. One would even argue it was hot! It was in the high 60’s, and our secluded trail was bombarded by tons of people out enjoying the unseasonably nice weather. We had to pause often for runners, bikers, and hikers, but we made it work and had a great time out there. All the floral props are from The Fresh Flower Market, and we utilized some new dresses that I have available to style your little girls into princesses. I love adding in a styled element, and as a parent myself, I know that having to find one less “picture perfect” outfit throughout the year makes my job as a mom about 75% easier.
I hope you love some of my favorite images from this Spring Mini Photo Session in Aurora, Colorado. If you’re interested in setting up a session, I’d love to chat!
